Axe Chocolate Man: The Next David Koresh?

Axe Chocolate Man: The Next David Koresh?

The Suffolk Voice, Suffolk University, MA

4 days ago by Pat Burt

I had a very life-changing experience recently while watching TV - something that should not provoke much inspiration. To be a little more specific, it happened when a body fragrance commercial aired, something

that should usually do even less to a person, but this time turned out to be fatally different.

The Issue: Former president named New Englander of the Year

What we think: Monan offers an example for current leaders

When you consider Boston College today, things like "New Ivy," 31,000 applicants, or a $1.75 billion endowment may instantly come to mind. The University did not always experience such abundance, though. In fact, BC was on the verge of financial disaster in the late 1960s. The school was $30 million in debt with a paltry $6 million endowment.

The MCLA Beacon, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, MA

18 hours ago by Jennifer Chinn, Editor-in-Chief

Vandalism is an issue that is not taken lightly on this campus, and yet it happens more than expected.

Every year Orientation leaders warn incoming students to lock up their valuables, while returning students get the lecture about vandalism in the residence area.

A Secular Persepective: A Response to My Critics

The Archway, Bryant College, RI

1 day ago by Brandon Dobro

It's no secret that as a result of writing this religious-themed column I have been criticized for some of my bolder comments, which is to be expected. I don't take offense as a result of these criticisms, but rather use them to question my own beliefs about the world.

I finally did it. I stole one of those stupid signs in the middle of the crosswalk. Words of wisdom: The whole thing doesn't fit in a compact car trunk unless you twist the top part off. If there's not enough time, you can kind of fit it across the backseat.

Josh's Debate Opinion

The Comment, Bridgewater State College, MA

This past Tuesday evening our two Presidential candidates met again for their second debate this election season. This time around they utilized the town hall style forum which was supposed to give it a more relaxed feel, as if they were speaking right to us.

Dear Yankees: The Red Sox are now joining you in Florida for a bit ... although we're still playing baseball, not golf!

Mac computers are good because they "just work." Take the brand new e-mail stations in the library for instance: at least 15 percent of those are working at all times.

10/10/08 - Benjamin Franklin was a statesmen, a scientist, a printer and quite often he gave memorable quips.

One of the most memorable was this gem, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy".

End term limits and their arbitrary paternalism

The Record, Harvard Law School, MA

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's move this week to try and extend his office's term limits may have seemed opportunistic. Whether or not Bloomberg's motivations are noble, however, the revision of term limits - across the United States - is well past due.

Sexual assault simply cannot be tolerated

Keene Equinox, Keene State College, NH

3 days ago by Heather Servant

It is time we start taking a more aggressive stance against sexual assault.

By this, I mean we need to stop putting the blame on victims and start putting the blame where it really belongs - on the perpetrators of these crimes.

Every female in this country has been raised to fear sexual assault.

Looking Like a Lolita and a Rebel

For the first nine years of my schooling, I wore a uniform. It was the typical Catholic schoolgirl outfit - white knee-highs, black shoes, a plaid skirt and a white dress shirt. I didn't mind the uniform and when I went to public high school, I occasionally dragged it out and wore it to school.

KSC students left to pick up KPD tab

Keene Equinox, Keene State College, NH

It would seem, once again, tuition costs at Keene State College will be on the rise.

Over the past weeks, the city of Keene and KSC have been discussing the installment of a municipal services fee levied directly at college students for their penchant to stretch thin the resources of the Keene fire and police departments during the school year.

A good-luck diamond to Megan Andelloux, former employee of the recently shuttered Miko Exoticwear, for her plans to open a "nonprofit feminist sex shop" near campus early next year. Until then, we'll just spend all our time on Health Services' new orgasm Web site.

Upon a recent visit to a Halloween store, I stumbled upon something entirely sickening and horrendous-distastefully incomplete costumes targeted at young teenage girls. As many of these costumes are dresses, they tend to lack length and material specific to the chest area.

A Wild Candidate Has Appeared!

The Suffolk Voice, Suffolk University, MA

We've reached the homestretch of the 08 presidential election, which means that the gloves are off and the political mudslinging has begun.

In the past, American citizens have expressed disgust whenever the political field turns into a minefield of insults, finger-pointing and name calling - and this year is no different. But again, it has not hindered each campaign from lashing out at the other's.

"If Daddy and I ever get like that, put us in a home." This is what my mom used to say when we would see one of those elderly couples at the mall or Stop and Shop. The kind wearing matching, swishy track suits, maybe in baby blue or light pastels.

Huntington News, Northeastern University, MA

Before leaving to study abroad in Ireland last spring, I had read about study abroad being an enlightening and mind opening experience. OK, whatever, I thought. My main concern was trying to figure out how long it took to get to the bottom of a pint of Guinness.
