The end of the school year is drawing near and intramural sports are burning up with activity. The mini-golf tournament drew a number of participants to see the famous mini golf course that was created by our Recreation Assistant Director Patrick Guerette and senior Andrew Nadermann. While the tournament was well played by many, we did have winners emerge from the duck pond. For the men's division, Andrew Smith took home the gold, while in the women's division, Nimisha Parekh, Jen Walsh, Pamela Dunton, and Nicole Smith all took home the gold in a four way tie.

Spring has arrived, and intramural soccer season kicked off Sunday, April 5, 2009. The season got off to a great start with games playing from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. Other evidence that spring is in the air is when the Ultimate Frisbee Club finally has permission to practice on the turf field. Their season started off wonderfully with a group of twenty people braving the cold Sunday night to play this game. If you are interested in playing some ultimate frisbee we have an ultimate frisbee tournament coming up and the entry deadline is quickly approaching. Come join these students by signing up by April 14 to participate in this tournament and enjoy the springtime.

In other sporting news, the Plourde Recreation Center would like to wish the Assumption College Dance Team and the Assumption College Cheerleading Team "good luck" as they travel to Daytona, Florida. They will be attending the NCA/NDA National Championships on April 7-10. If you missed their preview showing of their routines for Nationals don't worry they looked amazing and they will do us proud. Good luck girls!

Last but not least, we would like to congratulate the Women's Club Volleyball Team in their latest volleyball tournament that was hosted at Assumption College recently. The theme of tournament was Breast Cancer Awareness. After the tournament had ended, the Women's Club Volleyball Team raised $500 for breast cancer support
